Cost: 950 + split utilities (approx. $50-60 each month that includes Netflix, hydro, internet, and cable which is mandatory to live in the building). If you need parking it can be arranged with the building manager for $80 something/month
Security Deposit: $475 security deposit required in advance once it is confirmed you will be taking the Room For Rent British Columbia and you would like to secure it. You would get this back at the end of your tenancy.
Where: Downtown by Stadium skytrain station right at the Chinatown gate. It is a grittier neighbourhood but very accessible to transit including direct buses to UBC and SFU.
What is included: Fully furnished, linens, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, toothpaste, etc. You also have access to everything in the apartment including camping gear, sports equipment, etc. I don’t live a life of what is mine is mine (except for food) as long as you don’t destroy anything
What is the room furnished with: TV, queen sized bed with medium-firm mattress purchased within the last 2 years. Desk and chair (not as pictured but I can share a picture Room For Rent British Columbia of the desk and am buying ergonomic chairs for each of the rooms). Dresser, another shelf, drawer things in your closet, storage boxes in the closet, hangers.
Apartment furnishings: Pretty much everything you ever wanted and needed. The patio is also done up with a patio heater so we can chill out in the summer and winter. The flooring in the kitchen will probably be different by the time you move in. We have a vitamix, I will be getting an air fryer toaster oven. Think of the apartment as comfortable.
Who else lives here: Me (female, 32, cancer, professionally employed working from home), roommate (female, 29, works in restaurant but 9-5 Mon-Fri right now). We are pretty chill. Outside of COVID times, we don’t have a problem with you having friends over or your partner over. It will however become a problem if it begins to feel like they are living here.
About the building: Made of concrete so you rarely if ever hear the people above and beside. Laundry is shared in the building. The tenants are a mix of Chinese seniors and everyone else. It is a pet-free and non-smoking building. Has a bike room. The gym is very basic.

Cleans up after themselves. Pays rent on time. Doesn’t bring the party home and respectful of noise. LGBTQI2S+ friendly
Note: the landlord will require a copy of your ID. It is unusual, but it is what it is. The landlord also does regular inspections, which I do appreciate. They are on top of getting things fixed in the building, and I would say that it is very well managed.

Open to meeting in person (masked) and can arrange a video viewing. Most of my former roommates have viewed and rented it while being out of the Province or country I prefer not to do it because I think you should meet me, and see the apartment. That said, there is always an exception.
